Services
Individual Counseling
We tailor our services to best meet your unique and specific needs. Using a comprehensive approach, psychotherapy allows you to address difficulties on a deeper level to find lasting solutions. Hundreds of studies find that psychotherapy supports people to make positive changes in their lives.
Individual sessions last approximately 45-60 minutes, providing a safe, confidential space. During this time we may explore emotions, obstacles to healing, relationships, unresolved trauma, patterns of behavior or simply whatever arises while incorporating opportunities for self-exploration and insight to working with blocks, finding better ways of relating to yourself and the world, and gaining greater awareness to facilitate change.
Who can benefit?
Psychotherapy can help people in a variety of situations. For example, it may benefit someone who:
has overwhelming feelings of sadness or helplessness
feels anxious most of the time
experiences low self-esteem / confidence
has difficulty facing everyday challenges or focusing on work or studies
is having relationship or complex relationship issues
is at risk of harming themselves or others
feels their situation will never improve, despite receiving help from friends and family
would like to work on personal growth and development
has experienced an abusive situation or traumatic experience
“What appear to be our biggest challenges can become our greatest gifts when we overcome them.”
– Lesley Phillips, PhD

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa, by definition, means 1 breath, 1 movement. As in all yoga practices, the breath is vital. In our practice, we harness the power of the breath to still the mind, and guide ourselves more deeply into our bodies through guided movement connected with the breath. You will be guided through a series of postures that support our intention or theme for the practice. You will discover that through the practice and guided movements you may release past emotions and/or trauma that you may have subconsciously tucked away into your muscles or fascia. This is quite normal, and encouraged in our practice. Stacey will be available to guide you through any emotions in the moment, and you will be given quiet time to reflect and/or journal at the end of our practice about any sensations, thoughts and/or reactions that arose for you. These journal entries can then be shared in your next therapy session with your individual therapist (Note: Participants do not have to be clients at Halcyon Counseling & Wellness to attend this group). There is room for 20 students in each class.
We will begin with a 10-minute grounding/centering meditation, followed by 20 minutes of movement practice, and end with 15 minutes to reflect and/or journal. This group is held once a month at Little Lotus Yoga Studio, located at 110 E Lincolnway, Unit D (Parking available on East of Building) from 6:45-7:30 PM, for ages 16+. Yoga mats/equipment will be provided. For additional information or to sign up for the next group, please submit an appointment request.
